Preface

This Student Study Guide is designed to accompany The Essential Sociologist: An Introduction by Beth Hess, Peter Stein, and Susan Farrell. The Guide provides students with a brief overview of the contents of each chapter. For each chapter there are key terms, thought-provoking discussion questions and exercises that are geared to issues raised in the chapter.  Pertinent websites have been included on Roxbury's webpage for this text: http://www.roxbury.net/booksites/esb/esbindex.html.

The Student Study Guide also includes a Test Bank of multiple-choice, true-false, and essay questions for each of the sixteen chapters in the text.
